The City Council has awarded this grant program to six associations based in the city

Benidorm allocates 48,000 euros in grants to promote employment in business entities

Benidorm destina 48.000 euros en ayudas para fomentar el empleo en entidades empresariales

Benidorm City Council has allocated a total of €48,000 to promote employment in local businesses that employ administrative staff to manage their operations. These grants, offered by the Department of Employment and Local Development to help cover the labour and operating costs of these businesses and/or entrepreneurial ventures, were approved last December by the local Governing Board and have been awarded to a total of six local associations, as reported by the councillor for the department, Mónica Gómez.

Specifically, the beneficiaries were the Independent Association of Merchants of Benidorm (AICO); the Association of Bars, Restaurants, and Cafeterias of Benidorm (ABRECA); the Business Association of Travel Agencies of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca (AVIBE); and the Association of Tourist Apartment and Housing Companies of the Valencian Community (APTUR). The Benidorm Association of Young Tourism Entrepreneurs (JOVEMPA-MARINA BAIXA) and the Benidorm Local Radio-Taxi Association each received €8,000, the maximum amount available under the call for proposals.

The Councillor for Employment and Local Promotion noted that with this funding program, “we want to help business entities maintain their staff, primarily administrative personnel, so they can continue providing support services to companies operating in Benidorm or to those starting a new business.”

Mónica Gómez also emphasised that “employment is the best social policy that can be promoted and implemented.” Therefore, “the promotion of employment and entrepreneurship is one of the lines of action of the Local Employment and Promotion Agency, whether through direct actions or through funding programs like this one, which supports business associations whose members, in turn, create jobs.”

This line of grant was available to non-profit business associations in Benidorm that have a stable, active establishment or premises open to the public with opening hours and that carry out activities supporting entrepreneurs and companies in the city.
