The Department of Sports is restoring children's tennis classes and incorporating a Valencian pilota school to promote local sports
The City Council is offering 13 sports schools for children, adults, and people with disabilities this academic year

Benidorm City Council's Sports Department will open registration for registered residents next Monday, September 15th, for activities scheduled at the Municipal Sports Schools and local clubs for the 2025-2026 academic year. This year, the program offers classes in thirteen different sports and disciplines. Sports Councillor Javier Jordá announced that "the big news for this year is that we're bringing back children's tennis classes and also adding a Valencian pilota school, the latter to bring the practice of our native sport closer to all the children of our city."
The councillor emphasised that, as on previous occasions, "the courses and activities offered by the Municipal Sports Schools focus on beginners, seeking to promote healthy sports practice" among both children and adults, as well as people with disabilities. He added that the courses "are aimed at audiences of different ages and abilities, to reach the largest possible population."
The courses scheduled for this year, taught by municipal sports instructors, include Beach Gymnastics, with three different locations; Adult Swimming, Aquagym, and Maintenance Gymnastics, which will take place in the mornings at Palau d'Esports L'Illa in Benidorm. The courses include a wide range of classes, from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The offering is completed with swimming courses for people with disabilities, children's swimming, multisport, children's skating, paddle tennis initiation for adults and children, tennis initiation for adults and children, and pilota, all of which take place in the afternoon and are held at various municipal facilities, such as the Palau d'Esports, the Guillermo Amor Sports City, and the municipal skating rink.
The Councillor for Sports has indicated that those registered in Benidorm will be able to enrol in any of these courses starting next Monday, the 15th, while those not registered will have to wait until Friday, September 19th, to register. In both cases, registration will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., whether done in person—at the City Council's Sports Department, the Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm, or at the Benidorm Administrative Office—or online, via the link https://deportesbenidorm.deporsite.net/inscripcion-actividades, following the detailed instructions, so that the required documentation can be properly completed. Online registration will also open at 9 a.m. on Monday, the 15th.
"Classes will begin on October 1 and run until May 29, 2026, subject to the school calendar," explained Javier Jordá. The councillor explained that “the activities range in price from 15 to 25 euros, although some are also free, such as the beach fitness program.” At the same time, for those with a fee, “discounts are available for large families, single-parent families, foster families, families with recognised disabilities, or beneficiaries of the guaranteed income for citizens.”
Finally, Jordá pointed out that “in addition to the program for the children of our city, the City Council has also paid special attention to offering activities aimed at adults, especially fitness programs, swimming, and aquagym, to promote sports and active ageing as part of our Commitment to the Elderly, certified by AENOR.”
