The maximum aid will be 50 euros per month for classes in study academies
Benidorm reissues the extra support lessons that will reach 326 students of Primary and Secondary
The Department of Education has convened, for the second consecutive year extra support lessons for students in the second and third cycles of Primary and Secondary Education at public centers in Benidorm, with which "we reduce the expense that families make in classes that students receive in the academies of our city to improve their academic results”, as indicated by the mayor of the department, Maite Moreno.
For this program, the local government will allocate an amount of 97,800 euros, charged to the 2023 budget, with which up to 326 students can be served.
The call establishes a maximum amount of 50 euros per month per participating student during the period between January 1 and June 23 of the next year.
Moreno explained that the objective of this aid is "to ensure that no student can continue their school progression and can receive these support classes, in which the subjects worked on in schools are reviewed." According to the data provided by the councillor, "in the first half of this year, 255 students from Benidorm benefited from these grants."
The councillor pointed out that "these aids for extra support classes are added to the rest of the subsidies that the Department of Education launch each school year to attend to students in Benidorm and their families, such as those of school transport, for treatments psycho-pedagogical or for the acquisition of school material for the 2nd cycle of Infants”.
Within this call, like last year, the City Council will sign collaboration agreements with local academies. The amount of the aid granted to the beneficiaries will be paid directly to the collaborating academy in which the student receives the lessons, and the payments will be made in advance in a single payment.
The beneficiary students will be selected according to a specific profile and according to an order of priority. Applications must be submitted to the Municipal Psychopedagogical Office, located at the CEIP Ausiàs March -Avenida Venezuela, 5- from December 1 to 16, 2022, both inclusive, from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
When submitting the application, the minor's family must provide a photocopy of the applicant's DNI and the Family Register, authorization to collect financial data for the 2021 financial year from the Tax Agency, the budget of the collaborating academy, a favorable report of the School Counselling issued by the educational center in which the student is enrolled.
