The city once again hosts the so-called European Summer Closing Pride, described as "fun, safe, welcoming and rogue"

Benidorm Pride 2021 is back; it will be held from September 2 to 5

Although from Wednesday there will already be animation in the thirty places that make up the Gay Village, Benidorm Pride Festival 2021 will be held, after the absence of last year's edition due to the restrictions of the pandemic, from September 2 to 5 in a environment that the organizers have described as "fun and safe".
The mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez has highlighted, together with the Councilor for Events and Festivities, Jesús Carrobles, that “Benidorm Pride returns, how could it be otherwise, strong and consolidated in an open city that is overturned with this celebration that closes the European Pride editions ”. A long time has passed, Pérez stressed, and for this appointment "we have supported the organization in scheduling an edition, within the Covid security protocols and parameters, that will make Benidorm Pride a national and international reference."
"A party open to all," said Pérez, "with an important media coverage that positions, once again, Benidorm."
Since the organization of Benidorm Pride Festival 2021, Santos Torres has highlighted the program of parties and activities in this edition that focuses the strong point of the event on September 3 and 4 at the Julio Iglesias Auditorium, "a space perfectly prepared to meet the security measures necessary for the realization of any event at this time ”.
Torres has highlighted “the challenge that the organization and support of Benidorm City Council have entailed this year” to program “a somewhat smaller but no less attractive edition. loaded with visual spectacles, shows and tributes that will not leave anyone indifferent ”.
A prominent section of the program will feature “all the local artists from Benidorm who will display their art, on Friday the 3rd, at the‘ Julio Iglesias ’Auditorium. On Saturday the 4th, Torres pointed out, "the event takes a 180-degree turn with Roser and the‘ Diva’s Disco ’show continuing with Delio Stars and his show,‘ Mariquita Por ’."
In the news chapter, Torres explained, "the fun and symbolic high heels race will be held on the Auditorium stage and may be followed with all intensity and safety by the attendees"
The performances will begin at 6 in the afternoon, ending at 12 at night.
From the organization of Benidorm Pride Festival 2021 it is considered that the programming of this edition “is varied, entertaining, fun and above all safe; designed so that everyone will take a fond memory of their time in Benidorm and their ‘Pride’ ".
The Gay Village is made up of around thirty friendly venues "located in the heart of Benidorm, in the old town" that also have security measures. In collaboration with Health, Torres said, "in this edition there will also be a Sexual Health Point."
The mayor ended by wishing "success, prudence and party spirit for this party, already fixed on the Benidorm calendar", which began in 2011 with just over three hundred attendees and in 2019 reached 15,000 attendees with an important international component. " Pérez pointed out the municipal commitment and the support of Visit Benidorm to this party.
