Serafín Zubiri and the Societat Musical L’Illa join forces to pay tribute to Nino Bravo in Benidorm
Singer Serafín Zubiri and the Societat Musical L’Illa de Benidorm will join forces on July 17th in the city for a unique event: a tribute concert to Nino Bravo, featuring the greatest hits from the discography of Valencia's most internationally renowned artist. Benidorm City Council hosted the presentation of this show, entitled ‘Nino Bravo in Essence,’ today at a press conference attended by the Councillor for Events, Jesús Carrobles; Serafín Zubiri; the director of L’Illa, Oswaldo Olmos; and the director of SkyFest, Alex Fratini.
The event will take place at SkyFest Benidorm on July 17th at 11:00 PM. As previously announced, tickets for general admission went on sale at noon today through the website www.entradaonline.es.
The Councillor for Events stated that, in his opinion, it will be a concert "that will resonate very well with the people of Benidorm and the Valencian Community," as it is a lineup that "combines our most local artists, such as Nino Bravo, with band music and Serafín Zubiri, who has a spectacular voice."
Therefore, he expressed his conviction that it will be a success and will open another avenue for SkyFest," with smaller concerts for a very diverse audience, according to Carrobles.
For his part, one of the event's headliners, singer Serafín Zubiri, expressed his excitement about bringing this show to Benidorm.
Thus, he expressed his gratitude “to the City Council and, especially, to the Societat Musical L’Illa, one of the best bands in the Valencian Community, for supporting and believing in this project from the very beginning.” The artist explained that ‘Nino Bravo en Esencia’ is a “highly interactive show, in which we recreate Nino Bravo’s most important repertoire, songs that everyone knows – such as ‘Te quiero, te quiero’, ‘Noelia’, ‘Un beso y una flor’, ‘América’, and ‘Libre’ – and in which we try to involve the audience.” He also highlighted the arrangements of the songs, which “are very well thought out and meticulously crafted so that the band shines and becomes the most important part of the show.”
“It’s a show that’s already very well-rehearsed because I’ve been performing it since 2013, so for 13 years now, touring the country,” Zubiri explained. The singer recounted that he has performed “more than 200 concerts of this show, which means it’s currently at its peak, because it has grown since I created it, refining and improving many aspects, and now it’s at that high point so we can all enjoy it in its entirety.”
The director of SM L’Illa, Oswaldo Olmos, explained that around 50 musicians from the orchestra will participate in the concert and stated that for all of them it is “an enormous pleasure and an honor to be able to share the stage with one of the best artists in this country, one of the best singers, recognized by everyone, as Serafín Zubiri is.” He also acknowledged that “for us it’s an important challenge because, ultimately, we’re stepping a little outside our comfort zone, outside our usual repertoire, and performing a different repertoire is both exciting and appealing.”
Finally, the director of the SkyFest venue, Alex Fratini, invited the public to attend this concert which, in his opinion, perfectly exemplifies the objective of this space: “This project is designed to include all of Benidorm and this is the perfect proof, since we have a show with Serafín Zubiri and Nino Bravo but above all with a local band, trying to get everyone and all of Benidorm's society involved.”
