Sports Councillor Javier Jordá highlighted that, as in previous years, “the range of courses and activities offered through the Municipal Sports Schools focuses on introducing people to sport and promoting healthy physical activity” among both children and adults, including people with functional diversity. He added that the courses “are aimed at people of different ages and abilities, to reach as many residents as possible.”
The new programme of ‘Municipal Sports Schools and Courses’ will begin on 1 October. For adults, morning sessions will be available in Aquagym, swimming, fitness and maintenance exercises, and beach fitness at both Levante and Poniente beaches.
For children and young people, afternoon activities will include Multisports, swimming (four-month courses), beginner skating, beginner tennis, swimming for people with functional disabilities, and Valencian pilota. The latter is offered “to bring our traditional local sport within reach of all the boys and girls in our city,” Jordá explained.
There will also be beginner tennis and padel sports schools for both children and adults, delivered through four-month courses in the afternoons. The councillor explained that “activities are priced between €15 and €25, although some are free of charge, such as the beach fitness programme.”
