The local government board approves the terms and conditions of the call, which will include a budget of 78,500 euros for new self-employed individuals and businesses
Benidorm launches a new call for grants to support entrepreneurial projects

The Department of Employment and Local Development of the Benidorm City Council has launched a new round of grants for newly self-employed individuals and businesses that have started their businesses this year. The Local Government Board has approved an expenditure of €78,500 to cover the grant, as well as the regulatory framework for the grant, with the aim of "encouraging the launch of new activities in the city," explained the councillor for the department, Mónica Gómez.
The councillor specified that the grants range between €700 and €1,000 and "represent support for people starting a self-employed professional activity in Benidorm." In this regard, Gómez emphasized that "one of the main objectives of these grants is economic development, promoting self-employment, and creating jobs for our residents."
The terms of this call establish that aid applications can be made from the day following its publication in the Official Provincial Gazette (BOP) until December 31 of this year, through the Electronic Office (https://sede.benidorm.org), where interested parties must also attach all required documentation.
To be eligible for this aid, interested parties must register or have registered as self-employed workers, with tax domicile in Benidorm, between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, and have started their economic activity between those dates. They must also be registered in the census of taxpayers and the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers before applying, but they must not have been registered in the three months before starting their activity.
They also cannot have received these grants in either of the previous two fiscal years and must be registered in Benidorm or apply for an opening license for a business located in the city. They must also be up to date with their tax and social security obligations and have no outstanding debts with Benidorm City Council.
The grant amounts range from €700 to €1,000. The first amount will be awarded to entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed individuals with a tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered in the city. Entrepreneurs who are not registered in Benidorm but establish themselves as self-employed individuals with a tax domicile in the city and apply for an opening license with Benidorm City Council will also be eligible for this €700 grant.
Regarding the €1,000 grants, these will be awarded to professionals who register as self-employed workers with a tax domicile in Benidorm, who are registered in the city, and who apply for an opening permit with the Benidorm City Council, as stated in the terms and conditions.
A technical committee will be responsible for evaluating the applications and proposing the approval or denial of the grants, as well as allocating the subsidized amounts.
Councilor Mónica Gómez noted that last year, this line of grants reached a total of 63 entrepreneurial projects, reaching a total of €52,500. He also highlighted the "sensitivity and ongoing collaboration of this government with the local productive sector and entrepreneurship" and, alongside this line of aid, he also cited as an example "the various initiatives we carry out throughout the year through workshops, training courses, and competitions, such as the Entrepreneurial Ideas competition."
