Benidorm incorporates 20 unemployed people over 30 years of age for six months
Benidorm City Council has hired 20 unemployed people of at least 30 years of age for six months within EMCORP program, subsidized by LABORA with 231,120.15 euros with funds from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, has detailed that "from today this staff will provide maintenance and surveillance of facilities and customer service." Specifically, 8 people will carry out maintenance tasks for municipal facilities and infrastructures, 6 for surveillance of facilities and another six for customer service.
Gómez, who today welcomed the new staff together with the Human Resources councilor, Ángela Zaragozí, recalled that “the City Council published this job offer at the end of May on LABORA portal with the intention that this staff will join their positions at the beginning of July ", and has stressed that" EMCORP participants have been selected following the instructions contained in LABORA Order ".
The person in charge of Employment and Local Promotion explained that "with this program municipal services are reinforced and a service of general interest to citizens is provided, while allowing the participants to increase their professional experience in order to improve their employability" .
For this edition of EMCORP program, the City Council "had initially requested a grant of 661,050.92 euros from the Generalitat Valenciana, which would have allowed a very significant increase in the number of people to be hired", although finally the amount awarded has been just over 230,000 euros.
