Next week the resolution of this call for grants will be completed, for which more than 2,000 applications have been received

Benidorm has already granted more than 1,700 grants related to the receipt of garbage for an amount close to 330,000 euros

10 February 2021
Benidorm ha concedit ja més de 1.700 ajudes vinculades al rebut del fem per un import pròxim als 330.000 euros...

Benidorm City Council has already granted more than 1,700 direct aid related to the receipt of garbage to commercial, hotel and tourism establishments or other activities, according to the figures provided today by the mayor, Toni Pérez. The technical commission created for this purpose has resolved today the second batch of these grants, which will be approved in the next few days at the Local Government Board (JGL) and which raises the amount granted for the moment in this call to about 330,000 euros.

The call was aimed at those companies or activities that "were affected by closure as a result of the state of alarm or subsequent regulations", and consisted of direct aid of up to 25% of the amount paid in the receipt of the garbage fee of 2020.

The mayor has indicated that "this call was one of the last measures launched by the City Council in 2020 to support the productive fabric of Benidorm, which has been one of the priorities of this government, since the pandemic broke out." "A call - he has deepened - that, like the Christmas Window Dressing Contest and the current 'Benidorm is waiting for you' promoted by this City Council, has had a special impact on two very representative sectors of our city, accommodation and hospitality, which they are severely suffering the effects of this health and economic crisis and so far they have not received the expected support from other administrations ”.

According to the data transferred by the mayor, the number of requests received exceeds 2,000 and it is expected that the slightly more than 300 pending will be resolved next week. In this way, the processing of this call will be completed, which could be attended by natural and legal persons and communities of property with a habitual and permanent establishment for the development of their economic activity, which was suspended obligatorily as consequences adopted. by the decree of the state of alarm, by which it regulated the recoverable paid permit or by the order of suspension of opening to the public of the tourist accommodation.

The mayor has stressed that "in 2021 there are already several measures to support the productive sector launched by the City Council, such as the decorating contest 'Benidorm is waiting for you' -initially endowed with 1.5 million euros- or the suspension of the occupation rate on public roads of tables and chairs for the whole of this year and from March 2020 ”; and he added that "we are already working on the bases to give viability as soon as possible to the‘ Parenthesis Grants ’to which this local administration has joined and to which it will contribute about 790,000 euros." Likewise, he recalled that in the municipal budget 2.5 million euros have been initially reserved for direct aid to companies, businesses, SMEs and the self-employed, just as we have reserved 2.5 million euros to allocate it to a new call aimed at the families of Benidorm ”.
