Benidorm Cultural Center hosts the performance of 'La Casa de Bernarda Alba'
The Auditorium of the Cultural Center hosts this Friday, April 5, starting at 8:30 p.m., the performance of 'The House of Bernarda Alba' by Federico García Lorca, within the Amateur Theater program organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council from Benidorm. The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, explained that this performance “comes from the hand of a renowned company such as Mascarat Producciones, directed by Manuel Troncoso and with a large cast of amateur actresses and actors who are sure to please us. to make people enjoy.”
Among them are Virginia Barba, Olga Reinoso, Rosario Ortuño, Cristina Pérez, Sonia Padilla, Cristina Jiménez, Irene Pérez, Bárbara Murciano, Mari Ángeles Alcañiz, Toni Moya, José González, Mateo Gandía, Mariano Gomis and Rudy Tihelens, those in charge of staging a classic of theatre in Spanish addresses the confrontation between authority and the desire for freedom, through themes such as oppression, sexual repression and the struggle for power in a patriarchal society.
“Through the story of Bernarda and her daughters, Lorca shows us how the lack of freedom and repression can lead to despair and tragedy,” said Jaime Jesús Pérez, who has also invited citizens to “go to the Cultural Center to enjoy this work that leaves no one indifferent.”
The Councilor for Culture recalled that admission is free, although it is conditional on the capacity of the Cultural Center auditorium, which has 450 seats.
