Benidorm announces new grants for companies with more than 10 workers
Benidorm City Council has announced new grants to mitigate the economic impact of Covid-19 on the local productive fabric and that will be financed by a grant of 486,776 euros from Alicante Provincial Council to improve the consequences of the pandemic over the tourism sector, as reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez.
This new line of aid, called TEN 2021 and whose bases have been approved today by the Local Government Board (JGL), is aimed at "companies with more than 10 workers from a series of sectors linked to industry and tourism activity", and they foresee "a base amount of 2,000 euros per self-employed person, SME and company, to which an 'extra' 200 euros will be added for each worker registered on December 31, 2020, up to a maximum of 8,000 euros."
Toni Pérez explained that “this call is aimed at those companies, SMEs and self-employed who were left out of the 'Parenthesis Aid' for having more than 10 workers, thus correcting this situation and compensating part of the important effort they have had to make to maintain its activity ”. “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the City Council has at all times tried to support the entire productive fabric of Benidorm, modulating different lines of aid to reach companies and professionals from all sectors and activities that have been affected by the pandemic and allocating all the necessary financial resources to this, ”he stressed.
Among the sectors that may benefit from the TEN 2021 are hospitality, transport, leisure and travel agencies and operators that have more than 10 workers in their workforce and up to a maximum of 50.
The mayor has clarified that “in this new call we have not included the accommodation sector, since the City Council has already launched a line of specific grants for these companies, which have reached 160 beneficiaries with amounts that ranged between 1,000 and 90,000 euros and to which a total of about 1.8 million euros have been allocated entirely from 100% municipal resources ”.
Among the requirements to access these TEN 2021 grants, it is necessary having the tax domicile in Benidorm, and the average monthly billing reduced by at least 25% from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 compared to 2019.
Toni Pérez has indicated that, “once the bases of this call are published in the Official Gazette of the Province, a period of 10 calendar days will be opened to request and process these grants on the website: https: // sede.benidorm.org ". The application period will begin at 09:30 am on the day following its publication in the BOP.
The full bases that govern these grants will also be available on the website, in which the CNAE that can participate in the call are mentioned.
As the mayor has advanced and is stipulated in the bases, “in the event that, once all the requests have been solved, the fundings available will be distributed proportionally among the beneficiaries of the aid who have been distinguished with the SICTED tourism quality seal with a maximum additional amount of 2,000 euros ”. If, even so, the available credit continues to not run out, it will be distributed among all beneficiaries in proportion to the number of workers and up to a total maximum of € 12,000 per company or self-employed.
