Asmibe culminates its XXIII Adapted Sports Games with the delivery of medals and a great meal
The Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and the region (Asmibe) has celebrated today its XXIII Adapted Sports Games, which have taken place on the artificial turf field of the Guillermo Amor sports city. A day in which more than 250 athletes participated from various centers of the city and the province and which culminated with the delivery of trophies and medals and a massive brotherhood meal.
An act attended by the mayor of the city, Toni Përez, together with the councilors for Social Welfare and Sports, Ángela Llorca and Mariló Cebreros, as well as other members of the government team and the corporation.
Schools, special education centers, occupational centers, and residences from Benidorm, the region, and the province have taken part in these Games. This year there have been a total of centers, of which seven were from Benidorm (CEIP Serra Gelada, Tapis, Doble Amor, CEEM Benidorm, CRIS Benidorm, Vivienda Tutelada Integrament, and Asmibe).
They have been joined by other centers from various towns in the province, in addition to the monitors, companions, and collaborators, which have led to the figures of other years being exceeded.
The Adapted Sports Games are inclusive games with numerous tests such as assisted running, speed, long jump, shot put, petanque, psychomotor circuit, shooting at goal, basketball, tennis, minigolf, parachute, bowling, or skill games among others.
All the tests have been organized by the TAFAD of Lope de Vega School, with some 30 students who have helped and encouraged the participants and whose work has been recognized with a trophy. There has also been the collaboration of fifty TAPS and TIS 1st year students from the L'Arabí Alfaz del Pi secondary school, a collaboration that has also been recognized in the subsequent trophies delivery.
Once the ceremony was over, a fellowship meal was held for participants, monitors, and collaborators that brought together nearly 500 people on the indoor multi-sport track of the sports city.
