Aleksandra Kindic triumphs at the 26th Benidorm Music Competition, winning the Special Prize and the Audience Award

The 26th Benidorm Music Competition concluded last night with the closing concert of the "Classics at 9" series and the subsequent awards ceremony. The three finalists performed the obligatory work, in this case Mozart's "Quartet in F major, KV 370" (Allegro, Adagio, and Rodeau). The grand winner of the competition, which this year was in the oboe category, was Aleksandra Kindic, who won the "Benidorm City Council" Special Prize and the Audience Award.
The first prize is worth 1,000 euros and includes the opportunity to perform the inaugural concert of the "Classics at 9" series, which will be held in Benidorm in July 2026, a 200-euro voucher from "Lorèe," and a certificate of accreditation. The Audience Award, meanwhile, consists of an oboe case provided by Ortolá.
The second prize, "Department of Culture," went to Fidel Moraleda and includes 600 euros, a concert as part of the "Great Recitals" series organised by the Department of Culture, and an accreditation certificate. Finally, the third prize, "Benidorm International Music Course," which includes free tuition for the 37th Benidorm International Music Course in 2026 and an accreditation certificate, went to Luis Miguel Figueiredo.
This year's jury was chaired by José Luis García Vegara, with members Joan Osorio, Gonzalo Devesa, and Joan Antoni Espinosa.
The competition final was held in the Cultural Center auditorium, attended by the First Deputy Mayor, Ana Pellicer, and several members of the local council, along with a devoted audience that applauded the performances of the finalist musicians, who were accompanied by the string trio "La Stravaganza," made up of David Ruiz (violin), Ignacio Navarro (viola), and Pablo Cutanda (cello).
