Youth organizes a visit to MARQ Museum to see the 'Xi'an Warriors' exhibition

18 April 2023
Exposición de los ‘Guerreros de Xi’an’

The Youth Department of Benidorm City Council has organized a trip to MARQ (Archaeological Museum) in Alicante to visit the exhibition 'Warriors of Xi'an'. The activity will take place next Saturday, June 3 and the departure has been set for nine in the morning on 9 de Octubre Avenue in Benidorm.

The price of this visit is eight euros and includes the trip, the entrance, and a guided tour. In addition to getting to know the world-renowned exhibition, those registered will also have the opportunity to visit the museum's permanent exhibition.

Registration for the trip must be formalized at the Benidorm Youth Information Center, where you can also access any information that is required about this activity.

The exhibition 'Warriors of Xi'an' is an international exhibition that is promoted in Alicante by the Provincial Council through the MARQ. It is a historical exhibition and possibly the most important one that has been offered in the city of Alicante. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to visit the exhibition, which will be visible until next January.

The presence of the exhibition has been possible after several years of negotiations. There are 120 original pieces, many of which are exhibited for the first time outside of China, including nine statues and a horse, a dozen terracotta figures, which is the maximum that the Chinese government allows to go out to other countries.

The terracotta warriors of the first emperor of China have been a World Heritage Site since 1987 and the Prince of Asturias Award for Science in 2010, which gives an idea of the exhibition that can already be enjoyed at MARQ Museum.
