The awards convened by IAITI recognize excellence in digital travel communication and are delivered this Friday in Madrid

Visit Benidorm, nominated for the 'Goya' Travel Awards

Visit Benidorm, nominada a los Premios ‘Goya’ de los viajes.

Visit Benidorm is nominated for the IATI Awards, the 'Goya' of the world of travel, which recognize excellence in digital travel communication and the work of content creators. Convened by IATI, a pioneering company in contracting travel insurance online, these awards will be presented next Friday, the 20th, in Madrid at a gala directed by the well-known television presenter Roberto Leal and by José Pablo García from the travel website 'A tomar por mundo', and in which the best digital travel communication professionals from all over Spain will meet.

In this fourth edition, Visit Benidorm opts for the award in the category of 'Best content creation by tourism companies and institutions', which opens this year and in which Tourism of Spain, Tourism of Cádiz, Civitatis and Tourism of Gijon.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, has pointed out that "in addition to recognition of the work well done by Visit Benidorm and that these awards place them at the level of institutions with such pre-eminent institutional weight such as Turespaña, this nomination also constitutes an incentive to continue innovating in the creation of content and generating actions that favor adding new #benilovers to the large community of followers that our destination has on social networks”.

In this regard, last year, the Foundation carried out regular actions with 'influencers' and content creators in the destination itself. A "successful" marketing strategy, the mayor specified, "has been developed for years and which generates a very significant impact with a much lower economic cost than direct advertising would have".

Specifically, in 2022 more than 40 content creators visited the city with Visit Benidorm to show their wide and varied offers to their communities of followers.

"With this creation of online content, the aim is to reach the maximum number of people and to do so by adapting in each case our message to the interests of a specific visitor profile", added the mayor after recalling actions as powerful as the one deployed last September hand in hand with the Instagram account 'Lucía loves Romeo', with which Benidorm's offer to enjoy inclusive and accessible holidays was given visibility.

The set of actions with 'influencers' and content creators developed throughout 2022 have resulted in 161,997,952 impressions; “a spectacular impact figure and with which it has also reached very varied profiles of people”.

In addition to the category in which Visit Benidorm is nominated, the IATI Awards have seven other modalities: 'Best professional travel blog', 'Best travel Instagram account', 'Best travel YouTube channel', 'Best travel blog' of Portugal' -by having an office in the neighboring country-, 'Best camper content in Spain', 'Best travel Tik Tok account' and a special award for 'Trajectory and traveling values'.

The finalists in each category have been chosen by a jury of experts made up of Isaac Martín, winner of the “Best Professional Blog” in the III edition of IATI Awards; Enrique Álex, winner of the "Best Travel YouTube Channel 2022"; Amparo Cantalicio, an expert in digital communication; Guillermo Fuentes, SEO expert and founder of Bring Connections; Joana Costa, digital project manager at MAAG; Yajna Moreira, country manager at IATI Portugal, and Alfonso Calzado, CEO of IATI Seguros.
