Historical Heritage offers the possibility of visiting the museum and the exhibition using a computer, tablet or mobile
Virtual tour of «The Accidental Tourist», Boca del Calvari museum at home
The Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer has presented the virtual visit that, from today, can be visited on the City Council website (https://cutt.ly/OEcrz66) and has detailed that the virtual visit is achieved thanks to “a series of 360-degree images that reproduce a space as if you were inside it ”.
In this first virtual exhibition, the user “can move and visit the museum - the councilor has abounded - using a computer, tablet or mobile phone in a space that has been enriched with visual effects, audios and videos and whose objective is to provide the best immersive experience ”.
The virtual tour is accessed from a snapshot in Tomás Ortuño street. "By clicking or dragging the finger on the touch screens" the visitor can move freely, access information points or pop-up windows "that highlight the works with greater detail and resolution, technical data or videos that are reproduced independently ”.
For the realization of the virtual exhibition, five images on the ground floor, four of the basement and four more on the first floor have been used, in addition to the exterior image, “each one from a different perspective” that are traversed following the superimposed marks on the floor. "It is not a guided tour - Ana Pellicer has pointed out -, users can visit the exhibition in five minutes or in an hour, as they wish".
The virtual tour of 'El Turista Accidental' includes the two audiovisual creations that are exhibited in Boca del Calvari plus two new ones, a video of the museum's location and another that, “as an anecdote, goes through the entire exhibition in just one minute” , has specified the councilor.
The person in charge of Historical Heritage has highlighted that among the objectives of this initiative is to "bring Benidorm, its culture and its important heritage to the whole world". On the one hand, those who, like the neighbors, have already visited the museum but “wish to delve into details that could go unnoticed after the visit”, and also, it has affected people who “for example have known about the exhibition to through the media ”can be accessed virtually.
The mayor has not left aside people who "due to mobility problems or problems to get to Boca del Calvari" have not been able to enjoy "El Turista Accidental". Now they can.
The virtual visit to ‘El Turista Accidental’ is “a pilot experience” for Historical Heritage but could be extrapolated to other areas of the administration. "We are going to test the possibilities of this technology" and assess its future application in Benidorm, concluded Pellicer.
