Benidorm signs an agreement with Unión Cerrajeros de Seguridad

The city is the 4th in the province implementing this measure to improve the protection of battered women

Women victims of gender violence will have a free locks change service in Benidorm. This initiative aims to help these women and improve their safety, and will be developed thanks to the agreement signed this morning by the mayor, Toni Pérez and Enrique Rodríguez on behalf of Union Cerrajeros de Seguridad (UCES). The signing of the agreement have been attended by the councilor for Equality, Angela Llorca; Andrea Córea and Javier Llinares, representatives of the two companies that will provide this service in an altruistic way. This signing took place coinciding with the events commemorating the Day against Gender Violence, which is celebrated tomorrow, November 25. The mayor explained that this service may benefit "victims of gender violence who have a court order that authorizes the change of the lock in their homes." In these cases, the two companies associated to UCES will make the change by a security lock. The women may request this service from the department of Equality, which will also inform the Corps and Security Forces of the city of its existence. Pérez pointed out that it is "an important service" and that in many cases reaches women who at that time "lack the resources" to assume it. He also stressed that UCES offers a service of "guarantee of confidentiality, speed and discretion". The representative of UCES indicated that this free service includes both displacement, material and labor, and added that the objective of this action is "to collaborate from our work in order to make this society a little better" and to help  the victims in "a very sensitive moment". Benidorm is the fourth municipality of the province of Alicante that adheres to this program of Corporate Social Responsibility of UCES and the first of the region in doing so.

Security Locksmith's Union

UCES, a federation that groups together the four main associations of locksmiths in Spain and represents almost 90% of the associated locksmiths, makes public the list of professionals who are part of the Union and who have met strict requirements to be part of it: adherence to a code of ethics, training and permanent updating, development of a basic action protocol that minimizes the impact on the door that acts, saving a significant cost and prejudice to citizens.
