The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has received this afternoon in the Mayor's Office of the City Council, the ambassador of the Costa Blanca Cup 2021, the Alicante goalkeeper of FC Barcelona and the Spanish football team, Sandra Paños. The event was also attended by the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros and the representative of Tour-Sport, the tournament's organizing company, Fernando Brotons.
Paños participated in her formative stage in previous editions of the tournament, between the ages of nine and eleven, so being an ambassador in this year's edition has a special meaning for her, as evidenced in the promotional video screened at the open ceremony on Monday in Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera.
Sandra Paños (Alicante, 1992) began her football career at Sporting Plaza Argel in Alicante and at the age of 18 she joined the ranks of Levante UD Femenino in the First Division. In the 2015-2016 season she signed for FC Barcelona where she is a starter. She is also a goalkeeper for the Spanish team. Her record includes three Queen's Cups, two Spanish leagues, the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Women's Champions League this year.
