The Catalan football teams were crowned champions at the CESA Under-12 tournament in Benidorm, in which 800 players participated
In the Spanish National Under-12 Championships for Regional Teams (CESA), held this weekend at Guillermo Amor Sports Complex in Benidorm, which brought together 800 players from regional teams across Spain, the Catalan teams, in both the girls' and boys' categories, triumphed in today's finals.
The girls played the final against the Basque Country team, winning 6-2. Meanwhile, the boys defeated the Valencian Community team 2-0.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councillor for Sports, Javi Jordá, participated in the awards ceremony along with the presidents of the Spanish and Valencian football federations, Javier Louzán and Salvador Gomar.
In the women's category, Valentina García and Helena Naranjo, both from Catalonia, received the awards for top scorer and best goalkeeper, respectively, and Claudia Núñez, from the Valencian Community, was chosen as the tournament's best player (MVP).
In the men's category, the top scorer was David Ackhouaa from Valencia; the best goalkeeper was Mauro Artigot, from the Catalan team; and the MVP was Marc Rivera, also from Catalonia. The refereeing team for the final included brothers Juan and Miguel Martínez Munuera, from Benidorm. Juan is an international referee, while Miguel is an assistant referee at the highest level.
