The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, accompanied this Thursday the members of the Valencian Association of Businessmen, AVE, in their traditional day of analysis of the tourism situation that has been held in the city and which this year reached its eleventh edition. Under the principle that “we are all tourism” and with the hashtag #eresturismo, the day has brought together several hundred participants in Terra Mítica and has served to highlight for another year the role played by tourism companies and entrepreneurs, as well as the weight of this industry as the main engine of the economy in Spain and the Valencian Community.

Mayor Toni Pérez has spoken with a good part of the business community behind this event. Among them, the president of AVE, Vicente Boluda, and members of its board of directors, Juan Roig, Pedro López and Antonio Arias, as well as other prominent tourism businessmen and other sectors from Benidorm, the province of Alicante and the whole of the Community Among them, the president of Hosbec, Fede Fuster; or that of the Hotel Technology Institute, Javier García. The first thanked AVE for “its loyalty to Benidorm” and that the city “is once again a meeting point to talk about tourism.”

After the welcome speech by the president of AVE, with which the day was presented, María Zarraluqui, vice president of Global Development of Meliá Hotels International, spoke, presenting the 'Meliá Case: Leadership and strategic vision in the sector hotelier'. Behind her, Óscar Pirelli, director of the Studies and Research department of ​​Exceltur, has presented a report from this organization on the situation and prospects for tourism for 2024.

Two round tables followed, entitled 'Is the sector ready for robotization?' and 'Companies promoting talent in the tourism sector', which included the participation of experts from the leading companies in both. subjects.

Finally, the president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, has offered another conference under the title 'Baleària: A Valencian shipping company with an international vocation. Beginnings, development and future', before giving way to the conclusions and closing of the event.
