Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, the Benidorm Town Hall Assembly Hall hosted the performance of “Enamorà de la vida aunque a veces duela”, by the Benidorm theater company Catarsis. The purpose of the work, written by Manuel Palazón, was to raise awareness about breast cancer, through the activities organized by Anémona Marina Baixa, the Self-Help Group for Women affected by this disease in Benidorm and the region, which are being developed during this week to commemorate International Breast Cancer Day, which takes place this Thursday, October 19.
The Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and other members of the Municipal Corporation accompanied Anémona and the rest of the public in this performance, which filled the capacity of the Town Hall Assembly Hall, where a banner with the pink ribbon as a sign of support for all people who suffer from this disease.
Within the planned programming, this Thursday, at 7 p.m., the reading of the manifesto will take place in the Torrejó Municipal Building, which this year is carried out by the president of the Spanish Rowing Federation, Asunción Loriente.
Finally, the 'highlight' of the week will be the Anémona Solidarity March, which will take place this Sunday, October 22, and will depart at 10 in the morning from the Plaza of His Majesty the Kings of Spain, under the Benidorm City Council, in which more than 6,000 people are expected to participate. The president of Anémona, _María Botella, explained that the association continues to sell solidarity t-shirts to participate in this march, which have been designed this year by the young Benidorm designer Marcos Inés Ruiz. They can be found both at the group's headquarters and in different collaborating stalls and businesses in Benidorm and other parts of the region, for 12 euros.
