Students from Benidorm and Llíria conservatories offer a joint concert this afternoon at the Cultural Center
Students from the professional music conservatories of Benidorm and Llíria offer this Wednesday, starting at 6 p.m., a concert of string instruments, in which more than fifty musicians will participate. This activity is part of an exchange program between both centres, which has brought 24 students and five teachers to Benidorm, including its director, Adrián Garrido, and which they plan to repeat next year in the province of Valencia.
The participants in this exchange arrived in Benidorm yesterday and were able to take a tour of the José Pérez Barceló Municipal Professional Conservatory of Music, where they visited the classrooms, shared impressions with Benidorm students and participated in a rehearsal of the concert they will offer today. In addition, they also toured Benidorm to get to know the city better, while this morning they visited the City Hall, where they were received by the mayor Toni Pérez and the councillor for Education, Maite Moreno.
Accompanied by the director of the local Conservatory, José Miguel Mollá, and some of the teaching staff, Toni Pérez welcomed all these young people and thanked them for their trip to Benidorm to offer a concert here. In addition, he told them that, as is the case in Llíria, "in Benidorm there is also a great love for music in all its styles and varieties" and he has reviewed all the cultural and musical offerings from large-format festivals to classical music concerts within cycles such as the Great Recitals or the International Organ Festival, as well as the existence of three musical societies, the Colla de Xirimiters de la Marina and other smaller groups that also contribute to making Benidorm 'the city of music'.
