The bus starts operating tomorrow and other municipalities want to adapt this model. The plenary session unanimously approved this grant

The Sports department has assumed 100% of the cost of transport of the eleven young people from Benidorm who are studying ESO or Bachelor in the Center for Sports in Cheste, who have now begun the course and that it will go by bus tomorrow . The councillor for Sports, Ana Pellicer, recalled that the plenary session of the corporation unanimously approved last August 29 this grant. Since 2013 until last year Benidorm City Hall was assuming the full cost of the bus, also used by students from other towns in the province. Last year, Sports continued to pay this bus, although it signed agreements with different municipalities so that "each municipality should assume the proportionate share of the cost of transport". This year, however, the City Hall has operated a change in the system of grants for these students, following the model of subsidy that applies to university students. So instead of hiring the service directly, the City Hall will subsidize fully the spending corresponding to their students. Pellicer explained that "other people want to adapt this formula" that is already operating in Benidorm, and added that the City Council will manage the access to grants for these students in case of the regional government assume this grants again. In this regard, she detailed that "there is a group of parents of other municipalities that have already contacted the territorial director of Education in Alicante" to claim the grant.
