Solidarity march commemorating the "International Day of Breast Cancer '

The City Council has deployed a large banner with a pink ribbon, a symbol of the fight against this disease

Among the activities marking the 'International Day of breast cancer', which is officially celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, ther mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councilwoman of Equality, Angela Llorca; Anémona president, María Botella; and representatives of all political groups of the municipal corporation, and the association, have displayed a banner on the balcony of the City Hall with a large pink bow, (international symbol of the fight against this disease) with a logo of Anémona, (Self Help Group for Women with Breast Cancer) in Marina Baixa. This act of solidarity is part of the activities planned by the association in the municipality, in collaboration with the department of Equality, which will continue in Benidorm on Sunday 16, at 9.30 am, with "the solidarity march 'Muévete con Anémona'" , as it has so announced this morning, the head of the department of Equality, Angela Llorca. The test will cover about 10 km, starting at plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España, going along Paseo de Poniente and returning to Avenida de Europa where there will be a big party with tasting of typical rice dishes, at popular prices, zumba classes and many more activities. "Registration for the march only costs five euros". With it comes a commemorative shirt and along the way, "water and fruit." Anémona president, María Botella, stressed that already are "sold 2,300 shirts and 300 more have been asked," ensuring, first, a great success of participation and public. Botella thanked the City Hall for the aid received and collaborating companies: Aquambiente and Grupo Brotons. The representative of Grupo Brotons, José Brotons, took the opportunity to announce the delivery of 4,000 tastings of a popular soft drink, also to benefit Anémona.

International Breast Cancer Day

The celebrations continue on Tuesday, the 19th, also in the Town Hall Square, where, at 18.00, a great human bond will be formed and will read the Manifesto of the International Breast Cancer Day 2016 '. Later pink and white balloons representing the struggle of thousands of people suffering from this disease are released.
