Social Welfare invests 255,555 euros to provide assistance to 203 people by Home Care Program

24 October 2016
Bienestar Social invierte 255.555 euros para dar asistencia a 203 personas con el Programa de Atención Domiciliaria

The grant will help dependents to defray the expenses they receive in their homes

The department of Social Welfare has invested 255,555.72 euros from January to September in the implementation of its home care program. The disbursement has been a 63.75% of the item for this program, provided with 400,000 euros in the Municipal Budget 2016. This Social Welfare Program "helps to defray the cost of the care they receive in their homes or dependents with special needs ", said the head of the municipal area, Angela Llorca. The councillor said that to receive the grant, among other conditions, they must be registered in the municipality "at least one year" and have a "favorable opinion of the Assessment Committee" of the department, which is in charge of evaluating the number of hours that are subsidized. The cost of each hour of personal care represents 14 euros; the domestic attention, 9. The grant has an initial term of three months; after this period the Evaluation Committee determines whether to extend it until the end of the year. In any case, when the exercise ends, beneficiaries can be re-applying for renewal. Requests for grants for this year are processed from January to November. December is only for renewals. Up to now 203 records have been accepted by Social Welfare, of which 106 have required personal attention; 13, domestic care; and 84 personal and domestic.
