Education transfers 75,000 euros to schools for social activities and maintenance

24 October 2016
Educación transfiere 75.000 euros a los centros escolares para actuaciones sociales y de mantenimiento

Municipal Cooperation Credits are distributed among the 20 schools supported with public funds

The department of Education has begun to transfer to schools supported with public funds a total of 75,000 euros to finance educational, social, maintenance and improvements. These funds, called Municipal Cooperation credits, are distributed among 20 local schools. The distribution of these funds are made based on the school population in each center and the activities carried out for the benefit of the community, although the average grant is 3,750 euros. From these credits, a total of 15,512.14 euros has been allocated for cultural and educational activities and for maintenance of the centers. Others 29,765.36 euros will go to cover the costs for carrying out projects that respond to the socio-economic needs of families in schools. This section includes, for example, dining individual grant, transport services for excluded pupils of regional subsidies, grants for participation in school work outs and projects for people and disadvantaged groups. Finally, 29,722.50 euros will be used to fund plans to improve school infrastructure. These Municipal Cooperation credits has been delayed compared to previous years, because of the Ministry that had to clarify the grant to school transport and, consequently, to know the amount that the City Hall should have for bus students excluded from the autonomic system.
