In addition, the Consistory has incorporated 36 local Police interim officers from its job bank

Several municipalities use the City Council's job bank to fill vacancies in their staff

Varios municipios recurren a las bolsas de trabajo del Ayuntamiento para cubrir vacantes en sus plantillas

Several municipalities in the province of Alicante have resorted to the job bank of Benidorm City Council to fill vacancies and urgent needs in their staff; A collaboration that makes it possible to facilitate these contracts in the exceptional situation derived from the Covid-19 health crisis.

The Councilor for Human Resources, Angela Zaragozí, has detailed that "prior to the state of alarm and also during the same we have signed agreements for this purpose with three City Councils, with two of them to make available to them our job bank of administrative staff for Social Wellfare and Local Police ". In addition, requests were received from other municipalities that have not been realized finally.

Benidorm City Council has also resorted to its own labour exchange to incorporate 36 interim Local Police officers. These additions "have been made in three parts of 12 officers each, between the end of March and the end of April", and the officers will provide service until the definitive coverage of these positions or, failing that, as a maximum limit until December 31, 2021.

For the hiring of the interim, authorization had previously been requested from IVASPE.

The head of Human Resources explained that "the third agreement was signed with La Villajoyosa City Council, in this case to dispose us of its social worker pool to be able to urgently cover a medical position in our staff".

Zaragozí has indicated that the City Council initiated the procedures to generate its own labour exchange, “in fact the bases are approved by the Staff Board and are only pending publication in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) to begin the selection process " However, “at a time like the present, municipal Social Services require all the personnel and resources necessary to be able to attend to citizens who are experiencing complicated situations as a consequence of the health and social crisis caused by the coronavirus, and by this reason is why we have used this formula to fill the vacancy in the most agile way possible; a collaborative formula between local administrations that is allowing municipalities to help each other to meet the most urgent needs ".
