In this sixth edition, 12 municipalities in the Valencian Community are participating to promote a commitment to recycling from an early age
‘Recycle to ConserMar’ Campaign Returns to Benidorm with Ecoembes
The ‘Recycle to ConserMar’ campaign has arrived in Benidorm today, brought by Ecoembes, the organisation that has been promoting packaging recycling in Spain for over 25 years. The campaign, now in its sixth year, is being carried out in collaboration with the Third Vice Presidency and the Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, Territory, and Recovery of the Valencian Government.
The Councillor for Beaches and Environment, Mónica Gómez, visited the Ecoembes stand this morning on Poniente Beach (Elche Park), which was open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, July 12, the team will move to Levante Beach. Gómez explained that the campaign “is aimed at beachgoers during the summer season and highlights the importance of recycling in these spaces, reinforcing the commitment and habits already established; not only in the home, but also in natural environments like our coastlines.”
Ecoembes campaigns raise awareness about the importance of depositing plastic, metal, and beverage cartons in the yellow bin and paper and cardboard in the blue bin. They are also emphasising the need to stop littering, that is, the abandonment of waste on the coast. To this end, environmental educators at the Ecoembes stand encourage participation in various educational activities and games such as "The Recycling Roulette," "Ecoword," "True or False," and "The Recycling Wingo."
The activities are aimed at both children enjoying the beach with their families and students from summer schools in the coastal towns who are participating in the campaign. The website www.reciclarParaConserMar.es provides information on the campaign's progress and the dates when the Ecoembes team visits each beach.
About Ecoembes
