The Benidorm City Council, through the Department of the Environment, is hosting this summer the campaign 'Recycle with the 5 senses' (R5S) of the Generalitat Valenciana, which aims to raise awareness about recycling. This campaign, which has several workshops, was already in the accessible point of Levante last July and will return this Thursday, August 3, at the accessible point of Elche Park from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The workshop is called 'La baraja del reciclaje' and is based on a deck of cards in a giant format with the five colors of the project (blue, yellow, green, red, and white), which allows establishing a series of dynamics adapted to the level of the participant and the group with which they work. The objective is to review the correct management of the types of waste included in the R5S campaign.

The Councilor for Environment, Mónica Gómez, indicated in this regard that "we continue working to spread the message of caring for the environment through proper waste separation and proper recycling".

The campaign puts the center of attention on the correct recycling of waste and the containers in which it has to be deposited. In yellow, cans of preserves and soft drinks, lids, metal caps, plastic caps and sheets, yogurt tubs and lids, aluminum and plastic trays, aerosols, deodorant cans, plastic bottles, bags, bricks, boxes of fruit.

Glass containers such as bottles of wine, beer, cava, jars, glass jars, etc. will go in the green container. Clean or stained cardboard boxes, frozen foods, eggs, pizza, footwear, paper trays, cardboard rolls and toilet paper, paper bags, newspapers, and magazines must be deposited in blue.

At the Sigre point of the pharmacies, you will have to take the remains of medicines, as well as their boxes and containers, and, finally, in the eco-park small electrical appliances, lamps, light bulbs, chargers, cables, monitors, screens, computer equipment or big appliances.
