The presence of the Local Police has strengthened the workforce with ten troops from other departments, in addition to vehicles with a defibrillator, three drones and a boat

Nearly 40 Local Police officers will ensure the safety of Benidorm's beaches from land, sea and air this summer

Nearly 40 Local Police officers will ensure the safety of the beaches this summer from three fronts, land, sea and air, to guarantee that bathers' stay occurs in the best conditions of quality and safety. This was reported today by the councillors of Public Service and Beaches, Jesús Carrobles and Mónica Gómez, in a meeting held together with Mayor Toni Pérez with some of these agents and with the main mayor, Luis Arévalo, to find out their impressions about the start of the summer season.

The police force during the high season will be made up of a total of 38 personnel daily: the 26 agents and two officers assigned to the Beach Section, who will be joined by another 10 to other sections of the Local Police that will reinforce the service in the beaches in their free time. Regarding the means, the agents will have four patrol vehicles equipped with a defibrillator, five 'scooter' type motorcycles, three drones from the Air Unit, a quad and a semi-rigid boat, with 4 skippers, as has been indicated by the mayor of Citizen Security.

Jesús Carrobles has indicated that this year the number of troops remains at the same numbers as in previous summers, but “important material improvements” have been incorporated. Among them, the renewal of vehicles or the acquisition of a new drone “with more autonomy, more precision and more features”, which joins those already used by this police department.

Likewise, the councillor has stated that the main actions of this operation will focus on the control of street vending on the beaches or on small thefts that may occur, actions that will reinforce the powers of the National Police in matters of public security. Likewise, it is planned that there will be a reinforcement in the night service, especially taking into account the large influx of people on the promenades during the summer months, which will be added to the information campaign 'Your best holidays in Benidorm', presented last week and that includes tips and recommendations for tourists to take into account during their stay.

For her part, the Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, recalled that these reinforcements “are in addition to those that have also begun to operate since June 15 in services such as rescue and first aid or cleaning”, all of this to “ "Take maximum care of our beaches and offer the best services to citizens and those who visit us." Among all of them, the number of people who will work daily on the beaches is around a hundred personnel whose work is completed “with top-level technical means and materials,” the councillor added.
