Minute of silence in Benidorm for the woman murdered in Zaragoza

07 September 2018
Minuto de silencio en Benidorm por la mujer asesinada en Zaragoza

The first deputy mayor of Benidorm, Ana Pellider, has presided this afternoon at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España in Benidorm, a minute of silence in memory of the latest victim of male violence in Spain. In the act have also participated the councillor of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, representatives of different political groups, officials and neighbors.

On this occasion, the 68-year-old woman who died in the Zaragoza neighborhood of Casablanca was remembered. Her 67-year-old husband who hours earlier had also ended his mother's life. Later the man committed suicide.

With this, there are already 30 women who have lost their lives in our country because of gender violence and 954 since there is an official record. The Department of Equality has reiterated that, with any hint or suspicion, the toll-free 016 telephone number can offer specialized attention. A number that is not reflected in the telephone bill but that should be deleted from the mobile phone's call register.
