La Penya El Melic, winner of the Playback Children contest
The youngest supporters deployed yesterday all their talent on the stage of Julio Iglesias auditorium of Parque de l'Aigüera in the Children's Playback Contest organized by Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge. A contest in which ten clubs participated and Penya El Melic won the first prize -designed with 500 euros- with a choreography of the song 'Me too' by Meghan Trainor. The four girls from El Melic achieved the best scores of the jury and made the peñistas dance in l'Aigüera to live the first day of the 'Finde de les Penyes', the prelude to the next Major Festivities that are celebrated in two weeks
The tribute to the film 'Coco' of Penya El Cranc won the second prize - worth 400 euros - with a staging in which there was no shortage of traditional Mexican costumes and skulls. Also in a movie, 'El gran showman', Penya Quin Cacau was inspired for her 'The Cacauest Show', in which music and dance intermingled with images against 'bullying' and which won the third prize - of 300 euros -.
The choreography of 'Ya no quiero na' earned them the fourth place - and 200 euros - to the girls from El Paparinell, while the playback of El Parotet on La Granja de Zenón achieved the fifth prize -from 100 euros-.
The Xiulet, Bavallons, Ché que fort, Distorsió and Tot Arreu peñas also passed through the stage of the auditorium.
Out of competition, the children's queen of the Festes Majors Patronals, Anna Calbo, and her ladies performed a playback based on themes from the movie 'The Little Mermaid'.
This Saturday, the second day of the 'Finde de les Penyes' has started at 08.00 with a 'despertà'. Before participating in the mass in honor of the patron, the members have tasted a breakfast offered by l'Associació.
At noon, and with the 'Gymakana' already finished, the traditional 'picaeta' has been celebrated, attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; members of the corporation; the Queen and Senior Queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo; your courts of honor; the president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, Francisco Marín; his counterpart of l'Associació de Penyes, Dani Luque; and hundreds of supporters.
It is planned that at 10:00 pm the Adult Playback Contest will be held, in which nine clubs have registered.
