Ignacio Gascón from Benidorm and Carolina Santiago offer the last recital of the cycle organized by Cultura

Un concierto de saxofón y piano sella una nueva edición de éxito del ciclo Grandes Recitales

The cycle of Grandes Recitales, organized by the Department of Culture with the collaboration of the Professional Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' and the Provincial Council of Alicante, closed last night a new edition of success. The Hall of the City Hall was again filled to enjoy a musical evening by the saxophonist Benidorm Ignacio Gascón and the young pianist Carolina Santiago, who offered the fourth and final concert of the cycle. A concert attended by the Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, and the mayor of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, who enjoyed the recital with the coordinator of the cycle, Vicente Pérez.

On stage, Gascón -formed at the Municipal Conservatory and the Musical Union of Benidorm- showed virtuosity that has led him to be a regular guest of some of the best orchestras in the country and to be required to offer masterclass in conservatories of all the world; while Carolina Santiago demonstrated why it is considered one of the great promises in its modality.

The program began with Preludio a la siesta de un fauno by Debussy, followed by Oboe Sonata Op. 166 by Saint-Saëns and Adagio and Allegro Op. 70 by Schumann. In the second part, attendees could hear Billie from J. ter Veldhuis, the Escapades by J. Williams, and the Homenatge from Lorca de Amargós.
