The House of Castilla La Mancha in Benidorm celebrates the big day of its community with an institutional event at the Town Hall
This afternoon, Casa de Castilla La Mancha in Benidorm celebrated the institutional event that they carry out every year on the occasion of the big day of its community, which is next May 31, and that in Benidorm is organized by the regional house and the Tramontana cultural association. The event occurred in the Town Hall Assembly Hall with a large presence of Castilian citizens from La Mancha residing in Benidorm.
The event was chaired by the Fiestas Councilor, Mariló Cebreros, accompanied by several representatives of the local corporation. The queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Valentina Almodóbar and Laia Zamora, the president of the Commission, María Dolores Cano, and the president of the Penyes Association, Jaime Cortés, also attended. The president of the House of Castilla la Mancha in Benidorm, Loren Torres Escudero, the president of Tramontana association, Honorio Fornier Carrillo and the queen of the Grape Harvest, Alba Jiménez Marcos were present too.
The day, presented by Alvaro Romero began with a performance by the Rondalla and dance group of Tramontana association, which performed several typical dances of La Mancha. After them, the speaker of this edition, Óscar Arroyo, who is the director of the National Library of Spain, intervened.
Subsequently, recognitions were presented to the president, and the honorary members were appointed. Thus, by the House of Castilla La Mancha of Benidorm and region, Fernando Alarcón was named Don Quixote of the Year and Eva Caro was named Manchega of Honor. For its part, Tramontana Cultural Association has distinguished Pedro Ródenas and Joaquín López as honorary members.
