The City Council, through the Participatory Budget, will invest 50,000 euros in the neighborhood's public roads

Finca Barrina urbanization project is presented to the neighbors

01 April 2021
Es presenta als veïns el projecte d'urbanització de Finca Barrina...

The 'A pie de calle' campaign has brought together a score of residents of Finca Barrina this morning in a ceremony in which the councilors of Citizenship Participation, Ana Pellicer, and Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate, together with municipal technicians, and representatives of the Neighborhood Council, have presented the neighborhood urbanization project and the actions that will be carried out shortly within the Participatory Budget 2021.

In fact, as Ana Pellicer recalled, the intervention at Finca Barrina is "one of the first proposals" that has been "attended to by the Neighborhood Council within the Participatory Budget." It is planned that the municipal investment will be allocated to the existing public park, where a masonry wall will be built and on the roads where street furniture, trees and lighting will be installed. In this section, the technicians have informed the neighborhood that they are waiting for a grant from the IVACE (Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness) for its improvement.

Regardless of the project contemplated in the Participatory Budget, the urbanization carried out by the Municipal Technical Services has been presented to the residents in order to reach "the entire neighbourhood", which has, - indicates González de Zárate - with a problem: " except for a public road and the public park ”, everything else is privately owned.

“A year ago - González de Zárate recalled - we committed to drawing up the urbanization project to find out the costs”, contemplating a general intervention in sewerage, drinking water, rainwater, lighting, etc. Today, with the writing completed, the technicians have explained the project in detail.

The person in charge of Public Space has described the urbanization project as "very ambitious", with "streets with no sidewalks" to gain accessibility by taking advantage of the scarce circulation of vehicles in the area. González de Zárate, who has made it clear that together with the public investment the contribution of the owners will be necessary, has announced that "in a short time" it will be exposed to the public so that citizens or entities that wish to make the allegations can make them.

Finally, Ana Pellicer has valued initiatives such as ‘A pie de calle’, recalling that it has already been “two years of visits to each of the neighborhoods” of Benidorm. "Very productive visits for everyone - she has stressed - because there are many contributions that are presented and all that can be made viable are given".
