The City Council has requested a grant from LABORA to launch a new edition of the program
EMCORP 2020 program concludes, in which 14 people have been hired for six months
The 14 people participating in EMCORP 2020 program finished their services yesterday, March 31, in different departments of Benidorm City Council. The Councilor for Employment, Mónica Gómez, recalled that this program "is aimed at unemployed people over 30 years old" and aims to "facilitate their insertion into the labor market by encouraging them to increase their work experience during the six-month contract. while they carry out works and services of general and social interest for the city ”.
Gómez has pointed out that, as in previous editions, "very diverse job profiles were selected, reinforcing various municipal departments." Thus, these workers have carried out different actions in the dependencies of the Urban Planning, Engineering, Urban Scene, Cemeteries, as well as in social centers and sports facilities. To do this, an architect, a technical architect, a Civil Works engineer, a law graduate, five municipal facilities guards, two undertakers, a gardener, a maintenance laborer and a blacksmith were hired.
For this edition, Benidorm City Council obtained a grant of 141,880.74 euros from LABORA, financed with funds from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). The councillor has advanced that "in 2021 we intend to reissue this program once again and do it with a greater scope." To do this, "we have already requested a new subsidy of 661,050.92 euros from the Generalitat Valenciana, which, if granted in full, would allow us to significantly increase the hiring of unemployed people".
