Emilio del Río presents his book 'Latin Lovers' in Benidorm, a tribute to classical culture in a humorous way

The Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has hosted this afternoon the presentation of Emilio del Río's new book, 'Latin Lovers', in which the writer has had the collaboration of the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and in which Present were the mayor of Culture, Ana Pellicer, and several mayors of the municipal corporation.

In humor and with the complicity of the mayor and the audience, Emilio del Río has made a plea in defense of the legacy of classical culture, especially Latin, which as the book's own cover says is "The language we speak" (although we do not realize). Videos and photographs of the most varied topics have served the writer to reflect on the permanent connection that modernity has with classical culture.

Emilio del Río has a PhD in Classical Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid and a tenured professor of Latin Philology at the University of La Rioja. He is the author of numerous research publications on his specialty and presenter of the section "Verba Volant" in the program 'It is not a normal day' on weekends in RNE.

'Latin Lovers' helps us to better understand the world in which we live and also to communicate better, by shedding light on our roots and our language.
