They will have at their disposal the indoor multi-sports court of the Sports City, as well as two locker rooms now out of service to store their equipment

Culture offers the 3 music bands and La Barqueta an outdoor space to resume their rehearsals

26 June 2020
Cultura ofrece a las 3 bandas de música y a La Barqueta un espacio al aire libre para retomar sus ensayos

The Department of Culture has offered the three music bands in Benidorm and the Cultural and Recreational Association (ACR) La Barqueta “an outdoor space in which to rehearse, thus helping them to resume their activity with the greatest guarantees security ”, as the councillor of the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has advanced today. Specifically, the indoor multi-sports court of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor has been made available to the four entities, as well as the chairs and lecterns for rehearsals and two changing rooms that are currently out of service so that they can store the necessary equipment.

The councillor of Culture has explained that “once this offer has been made to the Musical Union of Benidorm, to SM l'Illa, to SM La Nova and to La Barqueta, as soon as we know their needs, the days and times when they want to rehearse, we will draw up a rotating shift to organize the use of this municipal space by the entities. ”

Pérez has indicated that “usually the three bands from Benidorm and La Barqueta rehearse at their headquarters. However, given the new situation generated by the Covid-19, which requires maintaining a safety distance of 1.5 meters, these physical spaces are not large enough to accommodate all the musicians participating in the rehearsals and comply with the capacity. Hence the entities need at this time a larger space and outdoors in which to carry out their activity.

"Music is a fundamental pillar of the cultural life of Benidorm," he added. and that is why the City Council we want to collaborate so that these four entities recover, to the extent of current possibilities, their normal activity, so that sooner rather than later we can once again enjoy their concerts and recitals ”.
