Adapting to the prevention regulations of the Covid-19, the aisles are expanded and the perimeter will be delimited

Foietes open market returns on Wednesday, with 87 food stalls and new distribution to guarantee the safety distance

26 June 2020
El mercadillo de Foietes vuelve el miércoles, con 87 puestos de alimentación y nueva distribución para garantizar la distancia de seguridad

The municipal market of Foietes will resume its activity next Wednesday, July 1, with the opening of food stalls, 87 in total, and already adapted to the hygiene and safety guidelines issued by the health authorities. As reported today by the Councilor for Commerce, Lorenzo Martínez, "in order to guarantee the safety of customers and sellers we have designed a new distribution of the food market that will allow us to comply with the social distance of 1.5 meters and also order the transit of users and the purchasing processes in each post ”.

Martínez has transferred these details after informing the groups of the corporation; and has indicated that "in recent weeks the municipal technicians and the Headquarters of the Local Police have worked to adapt the marketplace and its operations to the new situation generated by Covid-19, as well as to the circular transferred in this regard by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) ”.

Among the measures adopted is "delimiting the entire perimeter of the market, to establish a single access road in front of José Llorca Linares social center, so that we can control the entry and exit of people and, therefore, guarantee that at all times the capacities are fulfilled ”. The entrance and exit, which will be controlled by an inspection group, will be differentiated to avoid the crossing of users, and will have a station with hydroalcoholic gel.

Once inside the venue, "the new distribution expands the circulation aisles to guarantee the distance between customers who are shopping at the stalls and those who are in the transit area." In addition, "positions will only be installed on one side of each corridor."

Martínez has clarified that "at this moment we only open the food stands, and as the situation evolves, the rest will open."

Due to the reopening and as usual whenever the market is installed, vehicles will not be allowed to park in the Mercasa car park the night before.
