For the third consecutive year, the City Council approves grants that vary depending on the number of students and the number people of the three Benidorm bands

Culture grants music schools and students with 25,880 euros

04 June 2018
Cultura subvenciona con 25.880 euros a las escuelas de música y educandos

The Department of Culture, directed by Ana Pellicer, will subsidize 25,880 euros to music schools and students of the three musical entities of Benidorm. For the third consecutive year, the Department has convened a line of grants "to support and promote the cultural and educational work carried out by the three musical entities of the city forming about fifty students."

Based on the criterion of the Valuation Committee that has studied the proposals made by each of the bands, the global subsidy granted has increased by 730 euros with respect to the previous year.

"Gradually we have been increasing the funds granted to the schools of students until reaching this year the 25,880 euros"; a money that is provided from the scholarship bag of the Department of Education and that "directly affects the training received by future musicians in Benidorm", pointed the Culture Councillor.

Pellicer stressed that "the fact that each year the total amount of grants has been increased also shows that the entities turn to presenting their projects and proposals, because they see in these subsidies a support and a boost to their teaching and training work ".

As in previous editions, the maximum eligible amount was 10,000 euros per entity, an amount that has only reached the Musical Union of Benidorm. The help received by the other two bands, the Musical Society l'Illa -6,130 euros- and the La Nova Musical Society -9,750 euros-, "has been set based on the score that their proposals have achieved", after evaluating the volume of the band's staff, the number of students and the annual calculation of expenditures linked to schools of students made by each entity in 2017.
