Las concejalas de Igualdad y Mujer de los municipios de la Marina Baixa impulsan la ‘Marcha comarcal contra la violencia de género’

The councillor of Equality Benidorm, Paquita Ripoll, has presented this morning at a press conference the 'Regional March Against Gender Violence', to be held on Saturday, November 25 from eleven o'clock on the occasion of the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women, and that will depart from Plaza de SSMM Los Reyes de España.

The march, organized this year by the Department of Equality of Benidorm, has the collaboration of the Association 'Women with Voice' of Marina Baixa, the 'Association of Housewives' of Benidorm, as well as the' Council of Equality of Marina Baixa '(CCIMB), integrated by the municipalities of Finestrat, La Nucía, Villajoyosa, Altea, Callosa, Polop, Alfaz and Benidorm.

In the presentation, Paquita Ripoll has been accompanied by the councilors of Equality and Women of l'Alfás del Pí, Genoveva Tent; La Nucía, Gema Márquez; Callosa d'En Sarria, Rosa Mari Savall; Finestrat, Amelia Mayor; and Polop, Mari France Berenguer; as well as the president and vice president of the Association 'Mujeres con Voz', Margarita Luján and Mari Carmen Moreno; and the president and vice president of the 'Association of Housewives of Benidorm', Vini Pérez and Mari Paz Franco.

The different consistories have enabled buses that will transfer women from the different participating municipalities to the Plaza de SSMM Los Reyes de España in Benidorm, where more than 400 women are scheduled to gather at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25. Once reunited, Paquita Ripoll announced that, after a brief breakfast, "a manifesto will be read against gender violence and a minute of silence will be observed for women who died as a result of sexist violence."

In previous years, these marches were held in each municipality promoted by the Councils of Equality and Women of the different municipalities. This year it was decided to carry out a single march uniting all the women of the region, an initiative supported by the Equal District Council of the Marina Baixa.

At 11:00 the start of the march is planned, which will run along the Levante beach to the statue of La Paz by Juan de Ávalos, then return to the Town Hall square. After the march, Ripoll said that "people who wish may participate in the event organized by the Els Tolls Neighborhood Association, which will start at 1:00 p.m."
