The councillor for Employment addresses proposals to improve employability with the main business associations

Benidorm City Council met this Monday with the main business associations of our city to propose and listen to different proposals with which to improve employability in our municipality. The meeting was chaired by the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, and the general secretary of Hosbec tourist association, Maite García, participated; the president of Jovempa-Marina Baixa, Alejandro Gómez; the president of the Association of Travel Agencies (Avive), Débora Carretero; as well as representatives of the Association of Tourist Apartments (Aptur), the Independent Association of Merchants (Aico), the Association of Bars, Restaurants and Cafes (Abreca-Cobreca) and the Association for the Promotion of Women Entrepreneurs (Memba-Marina Baixa ).

The Councilor for Employment explained that the meeting has served to “establish a line of dialogue between the most representative associations of our business fabric and learn about their needs and proposals”, with the aim of “planning an agenda with all the activities and training to be offered”. develop in 2024.”

Likewise, Mónica Gómez has indicated that, until now, "sectoral meetings were held with each of the associations, but not with all of them together", a change that will now allow "to have a broader vision and to be able to share initiatives among all ”.

During the meeting, all participants commented on “the good week” of economic activity they have had in their respective sectors due to the celebration of the Benidorm Fest. Furthermore, they have thanked the City Council for its involvement both in this and in other events that have been organized in the city during the past month, including the Cyclocross World Championship, and also in different activities related to training and employment.

Mónica Gómez recalled that “although Benidorm has recovered very well and is now at levels above those before the pandemic, the City Council continues to work to improve employment rates and conditions and to help candidates for a job. job so that they have the best possible training.”

In addition to listening to the proposals of the different associations, all of them have also been made aware of the work carried out by the Employment and Local Promotion Agency as a mediator between employers and applicants. Finally, the councillor has invited you to participate in the local Employment Board, which will meet on March 13.
