The works will begin in December within the framework of the 2020 Road Security and Accessibility Improvement Plan

The City Council will asphalt Camí de la Lloma road and provide La Huerta neighborhood with more solar street lamps

29 October 2020
L'Ajuntament asfaltarà el Camí de la Lloma i dotarà a l'Horta de més fanals solars...

The Benidorm City Council will asphalt Camí de la Lloma road, in La Huerta neighborhood and will improve security with the installation of new solar street lamps. This has been transmitted today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, to the neighbors in a meeting framed in the campaign 'A pie de calle', in which the councilors of Citizen Participation and Public Space, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate have participated together with representatives of the neighborhood association and the Neighborhood Council.

The mayor has specified that the asphalt action will be carried out within the Plan for the Improvement of Road Security and Accessibility 2020 which, he recalled, “for a total of 1,700,000 it is being developed and distributed in each and every one of the neighborhoods from the city". In this specific case, the works will begin from the initial section of the road, currently with asphalt, and will continue to the upper part "so that it provides service to each and every one of the homes in La Huerta that are in that area ”.

Operators are expected to start work in December. The asphalt will be spread throughout the area with buildings.

As a complement, in addition to the asphalt, the City Council will install solar street lamps along the route. Toni Pérez has emphasized "the great acceptance" that the residents of La Huerta have had with the recent put into operation of these luminaris "on roads such as Lluís de Carlos, la Sénia or d'Onofre, Huerta roads that they finally enjoy of quality public lighting since last year ”thanks to municipal interventions.

Toni Pérez explained that these solar models provide an efficient "light quality" on roads that provide security, mobility and also accessibility."

The streetlight model to be installed in La Huerta has motion sensors. While they are at rest, the light is dim but they are activated by the passage of people or vehicles, lighting the area. These models of smart luminaires also allow, if necessary, the installation of security cameras.

With this action, the City Council “continues working so that every day, all the public spaces of the city of Benidorm, both in its urban area and in its Huerta area on rustic land, have services that improve the quality of life of those here we live ”, has specified the mayor.
