During the campaign, 181,795 vouchers have been exchanged in local establishments and services, around 11,000 more than in the first edition

The #BenidormTeDaMás campaign leaves an economic impact of 5 million euros

#BenidormTeDaMás

The #BenidormTeDaMás consumer bonus campaign has closed its second edition with an economic impact of 5 million euros, according to figures provided today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, just a few hours after the end of the initiative.

Toni Pérez has highlighted that "this economic injection comes at a key moment for commerce, restaurants and other services in Benidorm since the second half of May is usually a period of 'impasse' between the two major tourist events of the year, Easter and the summer season, and in which therefore the activity usually suffers". Hence, "the impact of the campaign has an added value since it has generated income and benefits for the productive fabric at a necessary time and has favoured the maintenance of employment."

The mayor has reported that since May 16, when the #BenidormTeDaMás began until yesterday, the closing day of the campaign, "181,795 vouchers have been exchanged in the city's establishments and services, around 11,000 more than in the first edition which was launched at the end of last year coinciding with the Christmas period”.

According to data provided by the mayor, 205,177 vouchers have been downloaded throughout the campaign. This figure "implies that 82.07% of the people who could participate in this initiative -registered citizens over 18 years of age- have downloaded their vouchers". Of these, "almost 73%, 36,394 users, have used them as a discount on their purchases or drinks, yielding a purchase volume of 5 million euros."

"These increases in exchanged vouchers and users -he pointed out show that citizens have become familiar with this initiative and with the advantages it brings both for families and the productive fabric, even more so at a time of generalized price rises in the shopping basket and in energy and with inflation already reaching two figures”.

Toni Pérez explained that "in the coming days, the City Council will begin to pay the establishments and services the amount that corresponds to them in each case for the vouchers exchanged." The total amount to be paid by the City Council amounts to 1,817,950 euros.

Toni Pérez has stressed that "given the results of the campaign, we can certify that #BenidormTeDaMás has once again been a success as it was in its first edition last Christmas".

At this point, he has pointed out that "the impact" of "this product born in Benidorm" has caused "it is being replicated in many Town Halls"; and he has added that "the Provincial Council of Alicante, in a magnificent gesture of having things clear, has injected economy in all the municipalities of the province so that they take advantage of this type of program". Benidorm City Council itself has requested to benefit from the call for funds launched by the provincial body for campaigns to promote consumption under the bonus-consumption formula, and which establishes an aid of 292,491 euros for the city.

Toni Pérez has meant that “we believe that the objective pursued by this campaign, that of injecting resources into family economies and into the productive fabric, has been fulfilled, which undoubtedly encourages us to face the third edition of #BenidormTeDaMás with great expectations. , which, as we anticipated, will take place at the end of the year, coinciding with the Christmas period”.

Campaign dynamics

The #BenidormTeDaMás campaign was aimed at people of legal age registered in Benidorm on April 1, 2022, who could request up to five consumption bonuses of 10 euros each. The bonuses, nominative by means of a QR code associated with a DNI or NIE, could be used as a discount on purchases equal to or greater than 20 euros in the establishments adhering to the campaign so that for each purchase of 20 euros a bonus of 10 euros could be used with a maximum of 100 euros of purchase and 50 euros of discount.
