Benidorm releases the latest projects to public information to restart the urbanization of the industrial sector that is almost 70% complete

The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council will approve next Monday the submission to public information of the consolidated text of the modified urbanization project and the project for the completion of urbanization works in the PP 3/1 Industrial sector. It has also been approved to release to public information the price review request file to be applied in the drafting of the amended consolidated urbanization document for this sector for 20 days.

In practice, this means, as explained by the Councilor for Town Planning, Lourdes Caselles, "the last step before restarting the urbanization work in the industrial sector, which was paralyzed and is almost 70% complete", although this process could be extended "depending on the allegations that may be presented by the landowners."

During this period of public exposure, consultations will also be carried out with the affected organizations, from which reports will be requested, as well as with the entities that supply urban public services that could be affected.

The proposal of the Town Planning Councilor also states that if the reassessment of charges presented by the developer, Terra Village Land S.L., exceeds 20% of the charges initially estimated by the successful bidder "these may not be passed on to the owners under any circumstances and they must be assumed by the developer or else renounce the status of developer agent” as approved in the urban agreement between the company and the City Council and in plenary session in March 2014.

The works of this urban sector were paralyzed by the Ministry of Public Works due to difficulties derived from problems with the sector's northern connection with the N-332 highway and from there an agreement was signed by which the developer undertook to adapt the urban planning and management instruments to the new needs.

The result of this is the projects that are now being put on public display "after having all the favorable technical reports", Caselles pointed out, remarking that "it is the last step to restart the works that are closely linked to the large roundabout and the Road Discotheques”.

The completion and modified projects amount to 30,009,212.17 euros, "an 80% increase in urbanization costs compared to the first of 2008." As regards the price review of the drafting of the revised urbanization document for this sector "with all the modifications that must be made and adjusted to the accessibility regulations, bike lanes, livestock trails, green areas, etc. It has a material execution budget of 4,762,486.06 euros.

Caselles, finally, have trusted that "the reports from the administrations will arrive soon to be able to approve the documents, the reappraisal and start the completion of the works in this sector and that it be a reality as soon as possible".
