The City Council incorporates a glass railing in the viewpoint and will increase the lighting in the area

Benidorm will improve the safety and accessibility of the surroundings of the Ermita de la Virgen del Mar in La Cala

Campaña A pie de Calle

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Urban Scene, has started a series of actions in the surroundings of the Ermita de la Virgen del Mar, in La Cala, to improve security, accessibility, and the decoration of the zone.

To this end, 'A pie de Calle' campaign has moved to the place today, led by the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Urban Scene, Ana Pellicer and Francisco Muñoz. Both have been accompanied by the councillor of Street Cleaning, Luis Navarro, and the councillor of Parks and Gardens, José Ramón González de Zárate, as well as the vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Antonio Zamora, and Francisco Martínez and several residents of the area.

The residents have seen first-hand the actions that are being carried out, which now consist of the placement of a glass railing along the wall that surrounds the viewpoint so that height and safety are gained without losing visibility.

The works will also entail an improvement in the ornamentation of the place, as well as accessibility will be improved with the adaptation of the pavement. Francisco Muñoz has also specified that more points of light will also be placed "because we have detected that there are areas that remain dark at night and in this way we improve this aspect, which also provides more security."

Finally, the City Council will also reinforce the cleaning tasks in the Hermitage area after attending to the suggestion made by the neighbors. "The objective of this type of meeting is to show the residents what we are going to do or are doing in their neighborhood, in addition to finding out in detail what their demands or suggestions are that they consider can improve their neighborhoods", indicated Muñoz.
