Benidorm is ready to celebrate its Fallas, Heritage of Humanity

05 March 2017
Benidorm se dispone a celebrar sus Fallas, Patrimonio de la Humanidad

In 'La Crida' the falleras announce that 'ja estem en falles'

Hundreds of neighbors and visitors accompanied last night to the falleros of Benidorm in the 'Crida', the act that announces the beginning of the fstivities, recently declared by Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

With the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles and good part of the municipal corporation present. Mati Vega and José Ramón Ramas, from Els Tolls Falla, have been in charge this year to lead the ceremony. The event was attended by the President of the Local Board Fallera, Daniel Masip; The vice president, Carol Bluck; and the major and infantile falleras of the three fallas of Benidorm: Fátima Carrobles and Teresa Peris, Els Tolls; Tania Rico and Naiara Pérez, El Rincón; and Natalia Buján and Verónica Buján, Benidorm Center Falla.

Following the suppression this year of the major fallas of the Local Board, the six falleras of the three commissions have been those who jointly have given the speech that precedes the beginning of the festivities and that has ended with the cry, "ja estem en Falles '. Finally, Toni Pérez has taken the floor to invite to celebrate the declaration of World Heritage; to enjoy the Fallas that are "life, fire, heat, gunpowder, music and joy without limits."
