Benidorm presents the Cultural Week of Festes Majors Patronals 2019

The Patron Mayor Saint Festivities 2019 approach and with them, the traditional Cultural Week of Fiestas, a series of cultural and festive events that take place as a preamble to the celebration of the festivities in honor of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge and Sant Jaume, which officially start on Saturday, November 9.

This morning the Councilors of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, presented the cultural program together with the president of the Fiestas Comissió 2019, Roberto Carretero.

The first act will take place on Friday, November 1 in Gambo Street with a concert by the Musical Union of Benidorm from 8 pm.

On Saturday, November 2, at 11.30 am, the official books of the Festes Majors Patronals will be presented, both by the Comissió de Festes and the Associació de Penyes in the auditorium of the City Hall. In the afternoon the Societat Musical La Nova will offer a concert from 8 pm.

On Sunday, November 3 at 12.00 the City Hall will once again host a new concert of L'Illa Musical Society, and in the afternoon at 8:00 p.m. in the Church of San Jaime, Rondalla Pulso and Púa ACR will perform 'La Barqueta' and 'La Rebolika'.

On Monday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Casa del Fester, the writer Antonio Fuster Juárez will present his book ‘Musician's soul’; and then the ACR ‘La Barqueta’ will open its exhibition ‘Alma de Benidorm’ at its headquarters.

The auditorium of Benidorm City Council will host three new events at 8:00 p.m., on November 5, 6 and 7, with the performances of Tramontana Group, which will offer a folkloric recital, a workshop with Spontaneous Theater and Manuel Catalan's performance and Marco Antonio.

The Cultural Week will end on Thursday, November 7 at the Casa del Fester with the presentation of the book ‘North African Corsairs in the baronies of Polop and Benidorm’, by Francisco Amillo at 6:00 p.m.

The Councilor of Fiestas announced during the press conference that a Wednesday thanksgiving Mass will be held with the participation of the Comissió de Festes 2019 and its queens, as well as all citizens who wish to do so in the Church of Sant Jaume at 19.00 hours for the restoration of the image of the patron, "which from today is back with us, thanks to the donation of the Fiestas Commission 2018, a family from Benidorm, the sale of the 100 lithographs made with the image of the patron , and a small municipal contribution.
