González de Zárate says that the project “makes the walks more pleasant and attractive in places that are very touristy”
Benidorm lights up two fountains in Rincón de Loix and the centre to improve the aesthetics of the area
Benidorm City Council has completed the aesthetic renovation of two fountains in the city with the installation of lighting in them to improve the image of the area in which they are located. These are the fountains installed at the junction of Avenida Filipinas with Ibiza and Derramador streets and the fountain located on Periodista Emilio Romero Street, in the section between Ibiza and Lepanto.
The councillor for the Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that the intervention was carried out within the maintenance contract for the municipal fountains. “These two fountains did not have lighting and are located in a busy tourist area, so we thought it would be a good measure to provide them with coloured lights to make the walk through these points more pleasant” said the councillor.
González de Zárate said that interventions such as these “are important, although they may not seem so because they improve the image of the city and make the routes much more attractive and appealing”.
The improvements implemented in the fountains will cause “a more beautiful night-time impact” and will also serve “to have more points to illuminate with the allusive colours every time there is a significant anniversary, as is already done with the Castell, the Levante catenary or the fountains on Comunidad Europea Avenue” he concluded.
