Benidorm exhibix tres sèries fotogràfiques de l'alacantí José Carlos Bernabéu...

The Espais d’Art Urbà ‘Ponent’, ‘Els Tolls’ and ‘El Carrasco’ are exhibiting three photographic series by José Carlos Bernabeu from Alicante, each focusing on a theme: urban, industrial and beach. At the premiere of this exhibition, the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer, together with the photographer himself and the curator of the exhibition, Alicia Lamarca, among others, have toured l'Espai d 'Art Urbà by' Ponent 'to see the first of these series.

Pellicer explained that “each one of the Urbà Art Spaces hosts one of the series, so we propose the viewer to go through each one of them to discover the vision and aesthetics of José Carlos Bernabeu regarding the urban, industrial or urban landscape. beaches, checking how it is capable of capturing any everyday object with an artistic gaze and turning it into art ”.

Thus, in ‘Ponent’ the 16 snapshots that make up the urban-themed series are concentrated. The industrial series and its 14 photographs can be seen in ‘Els Tolls’, while the 10 beach images are the protagonists of ‘El Carrasco’.

The Councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage has indicated that "with this triple exhibition, we continue to strengthen our commitment to make the streets of Benidorm a great open-air museum, bringing culture closer to citizens and integrating it into the urban landscape." “A bet –he recalled- that we started three years ago with the first exhibition of the 'Benidorm Expone', a project that we reissue year after year and in which the different proposals that we progressively exhibit in the Espais d'Art Urbà of the town".

Pellicer has insisted that "when programming these exhibitions we try to propose different, novel or particular proposals, as well as to give visibility to the province's photography professionals, who are many, relevant and with projection or trajectory". This is the case of Bernabeu, which in 2020 was one of those selected by PhotoESPAÑA for its annual festival.
